Another strategy for reunification of Korea

I came across this study presented by Bruce Bennet of the RAND corporation suggesting that unification of Korea might be achieved by convincing the North Korean elite that unification would not be bad for them.

The idea is that by first identifying what their main concerns would be in reunification and then offering solutions to those concerns, might incentivise them to be more favorable towards unification. this might help to undermine the existing regime eventually causing regime collapse.

Keep in mind also that the RAND corporation is a united states government affiliated think tank that tends to influence foreign policy as they have access to government policy makers. it is a creation out of the u.s. soviet cold war era thinking up strategies against the so called soviet nuclear threat.
I've heard that it is actually responsible for the military industrial complex (war industry) we have today in the United States.

I just present this article as food for thought. it doesn't advocate a violent solution in this case. just something different.

A lot of reading but here is a snip of the summary and the link to the pdf which you can download
